Tips for Asthma Relief

Getting the most effective asthma relief means that you need to keep up with your triggers, signs, symptoms and medications in order to control and prevent your asthma.

Here are some general tips for asthma relief:

Use a peak flow meter daily - A peak flow meter will measure how effectively air is moving out of your lungs. If your levels are decreasing you will know that you need to see your doctor to modify your treatment plan.

Develop a plan - This may seem basic but most people do not actually develop a plan of action for asthma relief. Talk with your doctor and go through all your triggers, symptoms and peak flow readings that we just discussed.

Keep a diary - Keeping a diary is very important because it will document how you are feeling at certain times. This can alert you to food allergies or some type of environmental trigger that you were not aware of.
